What the editor is

The Roxxem editor is where the videos learners study are made. Every video in the library went through it: a YouTube link goes in, and a transcript, timed lines, word-by-word segments, translations, questions and tags come out.

You reach it from Add content in the sidebar, or directly at https://app.roxxem.com/editor.

Two different jobs

The editor keeps these apart, and so should you:

Setup — running a video through the pipeline. Four steps: Add video › Transcript › Generate › Publish. See How to add a video.

Who can do what

Every teacher is a basic editor, so you can already add and edit videos. Publishing is the one thing that is held back, because publishing is the moment learners see your work.

If you cannot publish, the Publish button is replaced by Submit for review — your changes go to someone who can, and you are told when they act. Nothing you do is lost or blocked; it just gets a second pair of eyes.

Editing does not un-verify anything

Anyone can edit any video, including one marked verified by Roxxem. Editing never changes a video's trust level — only publishing is gated. This is deliberate: making people ask permission before fixing a typo means the typo stays.

Roxxy can do all of it

Roxxy 🦊 is in the editor too, and in the editor she has the editor's tools: she can add a video, rewrite lines, merge or split a line, tell you exactly which step a video is stuck on, re-run it, and submit it for review. Every change she makes is a version you can restore, so trying something is cheap.

How lines should break, how timing should work, how translations should read — all of it is one document, inside the app: the content guidelines. These help articles tell you where to click; the guidelines tell you what good looks like. When the two seem to disagree, the guidelines win.
