One page, five tabs
Editing a video happens on one page: /editor/videos/<id>/edit. Switching tabs does not reload anything, so unsaved edits survive moving between tabs.
- Video — title, language, type, difficulty, maturity, tags, thumbnails. The video's own details.
- Lines & timing — the transcript itself: the text of each line and when it starts and stops.
- Words — the word and phrase segments inside each line, which is what learners collect and review.
- Questions — comprehension questions. These are their own documents, with their own save.
- Resources — slides and other material generated alongside the video.
Save when you are done. The button tells you what it will do.
Fixing a line
On Lines & timing, each line is a card. Click one to select it; the player follows your selection so you can hear exactly what the line covers.
- Wrong words — edit the text.
- Wrong split — a line that should be two, or two that should be one. Merge and split are single actions; you do not have to retype anything.
- Wrong timing — adjust the start and stop. Every line needs both before the video can be published, and a line with a zero time counts as missing.

Words and phrases
The Words tab is for the segments inside a line: which characters belong to which word, which words form a phrase worth learning as a unit, and what each one means. The player follows the audio here rather than your selection, because you are checking segments against speech.

The Advanced editing switch
Top right of the page. Off, each tab shows the fields that tab is for — which is what you want most of the time. On, every line field is available on every tab, so you can fix text, timing, segments and translation on one card without moving.
The setting is remembered for you, because which of the two you prefer is a property of how you work, not of the video in front of you.
Warnings you may see
- No transcript yet — there is nothing to edit. Settle the transcript on the setup page first.
- Some lines have no timestamps — the video cannot be published until every line has a start and a stop. The warning takes you to the lines that are missing them.
Saving, and undoing
Every save is a version. If an edit turns out to be wrong, the version history has what came before it — and you can ask Roxxy to list the versions and restore one, which is usually faster than reconstructing it by hand.
