In Vocab Harvest and Sentence Snake, the game works through lyrics in groups called snippets. Some lines may appear to be skipped if the game is configured to show only a selection of lyrics per round.
Overview
This affects teachers and students who notice that the game jumps over certain song lines or does not cover the full set of lyrics.
Cause
Both games work through a song in snippets — a configurable number of lyrics at a time. In Vocab Harvest, a snippet covers a set number of lines (the default is 4 lyrics per snippet). The game advances to the next snippet after all words from the current one have been matched or the round ends. In a live session, the teacher controls which snippets are shown and when.
Steps
- Check the game settings. In a live session, the number of lines shown per round is set by the teacher before the game starts.
- If you are playing on your own, look for a setting to change the number of lines per snippet.
- If lyrics seem to be repeating or appearing out of order, try refreshing and restarting the game.
- In a live session, ask the teacher to advance to the next snippet manually if the game appears stuck.
