Roxxem plays videos through YouTube. Ad blockers, browser extensions, outdated browsers, or network restrictions can prevent videos from loading.
Overview
This affects teachers and students who see a blank video area, an error message, or a video that buffers indefinitely.
Cause
Roxxem loads videos through the YouTube IFrame Player. Browser extensions, restrictive network settings, or an outdated browser can all interfere with playback.
Steps
- Reload the page and try again.
- Open Roxxem in a new incognito or private window and try playing the video.
- If the video plays in incognito, a browser extension is likely the cause. Disable your extensions one by one to find the one causing the problem.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then reload the page.
- Make sure your browser is up to date. Chrome works best with Roxxem.
- Try a different browser.
- If you are on a school network, ask your IT department to unblock YouTube and its related domains (youtube.com, googlevideo.com, ytimg.com). See the article YouTube is blocked at my school for the full list.
Still not working?
Email hi@roxxem.com with your browser name, operating system, and a description of what happens when you try to load a video.
