Students join a live game by entering a 6-digit game code. This article covers common reasons why joining may fail.
Overview
This affects students who see an error after entering a game code, or who cannot find the join screen.
Cause
Live games use a 6-digit numeric code generated when the teacher starts the session. Students must enter this code while the game is still accepting new players.
Steps
- Make sure the teacher has started the live game and the 6-digit code is visible on their screen.
- Ask the student to enter the code exactly as shown — numbers only, no spaces or letters.
- Make sure the student is on the correct page (app.roxxem.com) and is logged in to their account.
- Check that the student has a stable internet connection.
- If the student sees a "game not found" error, the game may have ended or the code may have been entered incorrectly. Ask the teacher to confirm the code or start a new game.
- If students are trying to join a class (not a live game), they need the class code, which is separate from the game code. Confirm with the teacher which code to use.
Still not working?
