Overview
The Spanish level test is a free adaptive test that finds your Spanish reading and listening level in about 10 minutes. You get a Roxxem level from 1 to 10, with its CEFR band and ACTFL name. No account is needed to take it.

Take the test
- Select Start the test and choose the level that best describes you (or Not sure).
- Answer the four short sections: Words, Sentences, Passages and Listening. If you don't know an answer, select I don't know. That gives you a truer level than a guess.
- Your level appears as soon as you finish.
You'll want headphones for the Listening section.
Stop and come back later
Every answer is saved as you go. You can close the tab and continue from the same question within 30 days. That works on the same device, or from any device if you're signed in.
Find your results again
- Activity: open Activity and select the Spanish level test card to see all your results. See What's on the Activity page?.
- Pulse: your latest result is shown at the top of your Pulse Overview. See What is Pulse?.
- Your results page: app.roxxem.com/assessments/proficiency/history lists every test you've taken.
Sign up for a free account to save your result and see your Reading and Listening levels separately.
Share your result
Select Share your result on your result page. You can add your name, then share an image of your level or copy the link.
For teachers
- Share the test with your class: on your home page, select Copy link for students and send the link to your students.
- See your students' results: in Pulse, open a class and go to the Students tab. The Level test column shows each student's latest result. Open a student to see their full result. Pulse is included with Pro Teacher.
FAQ
Which languages can I test?
Spanish. The test is only available in Spanish.
What does the test measure?
Reading and listening. Speaking and writing are not part of the result.
Can I take it again?
Yes. Select Take the test again from your result page.
