Overview
Every song and playlist in Roxxem has a maturity rating. These ratings help teachers and parents choose age-appropriate content for their learners.
Rating Definitions
Rating | Description |
G | Suitable for all ages. No mature language or themes. |
PG | Some mild content. Parental guidance suggested for young children. |
PG-13 | Moderate content. Not recommended for learners under 13. |
R | Mature content. Intended for adult learners only. |
How Ratings Are Applied
- Each song receives a rating based on its lyrics and themes.
- Individual lyric lines may also carry their own rating.
- Playlists inherit the highest rating of the songs they contain.
For Teachers
To adjust content settings for your class:
1. Go to your class and click the 3 dots at the top right corner of your banner.
2. Click Edit Class. A popup menu will appear.
3. At the bottom of the popup, edit the song maturity settings.
Use the Maturity Rating filter to show only songs at or below a certain rating.
FAQ
Can I prevent students from seeing inappropriate content?
Yes. Student accounts are restricted to seeing only certain types of songs which you have allowed (for example, age-appropriate content). When you create a class, you will be able to control these content settings.
Who assigns maturity ratings?
Ratings are assigned by Roxxem's editorial team when songs are reviewed and approved for publication.
Can I report an incorrect rating?
Yes. Contact hi@roxxem.com if you believe a song has been given the wrong maturity rating.
