How to Create a Live Lesson

How to create a live lesson using the Lesson Builder and Roxxie, from configuring settings to launching a live session students can join.

Overview

Build a fully interactive live lesson — complete with games and activities — in just minutes using the Lesson Builder and Roxxie, your AI assistant.

Step 1: Navigate to the Lesson Builder

Log in and head to your Dashboard. In the left-hand menu, select Lessons to open the Lesson Builder.

Step 2: Configure Your Lesson Settings

At the top of the Lesson Builder, you'll see several fields to fill out:

  • Duration — Set how long the lesson should be.
  • Difficulty — Choose the appropriate difficulty level.
  • Class — Associate a class with the lesson. This gives Roxxie tailored insights about your students and their preferences.

Step 3: Attach a Resource

Below the settings, you can link one supporting resource to your lesson:

  • A video to serve as the lesson's theme
  • A vocabulary list
  • A question set
  • A PDF for additional context
⚠️ Important: You may only attach one resource type per lesson. You cannot combine multiple resource types (e.g., a video and a PDF together).

Step 4: Describe Your Lesson to Roxxie

At the bottom of the page you'll find a prompt box. Use it to give Roxxie a description of what you want your lesson to cover. Be as specific as you'd like — Roxxie uses this description to build a lesson tailored to your goals.

Step 5: Refine with Roxxie

After submitting your selections, Roxxie will follow up with additional questions about what you want the lesson to include and discuss. Answer these to fine-tune the content before generation.

Once you're satisfied with the details, click the Generate button and wait for your lesson to finish building.

Step 6: Review and Edit

When the lesson is done generating, you'll be taken to a review page. Here you can:

  • Edit any section of the lesson that you'd like to improve.
  • Preview the lesson to see exactly how it will look when finalized — without committing to any changes.

Step 7: Go Live

Once you're happy with the lesson, click Start Live Session to launch it.

Students can join the interactive lesson using a QR code or a live code, the same way they would join a live game.

That's it — a complete, interactive live lesson with games and activities, built in minutes.
