Who this is for
Advanced editors and above. If you can publish, you can review — the two are the same permission, because approving a submission is publishing it.
The queue
Go to Reviews in the editor. The first tab is Submissions: every change a teacher made to a video they cannot publish themselves, oldest first.
The second tab is the pipeline queue — videos the system stopped on. Submissions come first deliberately: that is work a person already did and is waiting on.
Once a day the open queue is posted to the team's content channel, so a submission cannot quietly rot. An empty queue posts nothing.
Reviewing one
Open a submission. You get:
- What changed, against what is currently published. This is the thing to read — not the submitter's summary, though that tells you what they were trying to do.
- Their note, if they left one.
- The video itself, so you can play the lines you are unsure about.
Judge it against the content guidelines. That is the shared standard, and it is the same document the submitter had open.
Things worth checking specifically:
- Timing — play a few of the changed lines. Timing that is a beat off reads fine in a diff and is obvious in the player.
- Line breaks — see lines.
- Translations — do they read like a person wrote them? See translations.
- Difficulty and tags — a video filed at the wrong level reaches the wrong learners. See difficulty.
Approve, or send back
Approve publishes the video at a new version and closes the submission. The submitter is emailed with the version number.
Send back leaves the video exactly as it is and returns it to the submitter with your note. Write the note as an instruction, not a verdict: "lines 30–34 are a second early" is actionable, "timing is off" starts another round trip.
Either way the submitter is told, and the video's history records who did what.
If a video is not publishable yet
A submission can be fine and still not publishable — a line without timestamps, for instance. The Publish area names whatever is unmet; see What makes a video publishable. Either fix it yourself and approve, or send it back saying which.
Verified by Roxxem
Separate from publishing. Marking a video verified by Roxxem says a person has checked it against the guidelines and it is right — it is the library's top trust level, and it is what excludes a video from bulk re-runs. Publishing does not imply it. Removing it is admin-only, so apply it when you mean it.
What you cannot do
Unpublishing and deleting are expert only, including for videos you created. Publishing is reversible by an expert; deleting is not reversible by anyone.
