Roxxy in the editor
Open any editor page and Roxxy ๐ฆ is there. In the editor she has the editor's tools, and she can see the video you are looking at โ so "why is this stuck?" and "fix line 14" both work without you pasting an id.
What she can do here:
- Add a video from a YouTube link.
- Edit a video's details โ title, language, type, difficulty, tags.
- Rewrite, merge or split lines.
- Regenerate one field rather than the whole video.
- Tell you exactly where a video is โ which step, what it is waiting for.
- Re-run it (the safe mode only).
- Submit it for review.
- List its versions and restore one.
- Build a vocab list.
Asking for a vocab list
Just ask, in whatever words you would use with a colleague:
Make a vocab list from this video for beginners โ the ten most useful words.
Roxxy pulls the terms from the video's own words, writes the list, and saves it. You can then open it and edit anything: add a term, remove one, fix a translation.
Be specific about the audience if you care about the result โ "for beginners" and "for advanced learners" produce genuinely different lists from the same video. What makes a term worth including is in the guidelines on vocabulary.
There is also a Generate vocab list button if you would rather fill in a form than ask.
Asking for questions
Same idea:
Write five comprehension questions for this video, mixed difficulty.
They arrive on the video's Questions tab, where you can edit, reorder or delete them. Questions are their own documents with their own save, so editing them does not touch the video's lines.
A question is worth keeping if it can only be answered by having understood the video. A question answerable from the title is worse than no question.
Everything she does is a version
When Roxxy changes a video, the change is a version like any other, so you can list the versions and restore an earlier one โ you can ask her to do exactly that. This is why she does not stop to confirm before each edit: trying something is cheap when undoing it is one sentence.
What she will not do
- No full re-run. She has only the safe mode, so she cannot destroy hand-edited lines.
- No publishing beyond your own permissions. If you cannot publish, neither can she on your behalf โ she will submit for review instead.
- No deleting published videos.
When she is the faster tool
For a stuck video, start with her. "What is wrong with this one?" gets you the step, the reason and the fix in one answer โ which is quicker than working out which of four steps a red box belongs to.
