Overview
Spaced repetition is a study technique that shows you words right before you are likely to forget them. Roxxem uses it automatically to help you retain vocabulary long-term without extra effort.
How it works
- When you study a new word, Roxxem schedules it for a review in the near future.
- If you answer correctly during a review, the next review is pushed further into the future.
- If you answer incorrectly, the word is scheduled again soon.
- Over time, words you know well appear less often, and difficult words appear more often.
What this means for your lessons
- Each time you open a song or start a lesson, Roxxem shows you the words and lyrics that are due for review.
- You do not need to manage a review schedule yourself — it happens in the background.
- Consistent daily study gives the best results because it keeps your review queue manageable.
Reviewing outside lessons
- Go to your Progress page or Word Tracking section to see words due for review.
- You can review all due words for a specific song, for a specific language, or across all your studied content.
FAQ
Can I review a word before it is due?
Yes. Visit the Word Tracking section and select any word to study it immediately.
What if I miss a few days?
Words that were due will accumulate. When you return, Roxxem will surface all overdue words. A few short sessions is easier to catch up on than one very long one.
