Game Powers – Roxxem

Overview

Powers are special abilities you can select before or during a game. Some powers are unique to a specific game, some are shared across multiple games, and some are only available in Live (multiplayer) sessions. Teacher hosts have their own set of powers as well.

Below is the full reference, organized by where each power is available.

Game-Specific Powers

These powers only appear in one game (or are shared between two).

Vocab Harvest

Power	Description
Water	Click on a tile to restore it and all adjacent tiles to the beginning of the harvest stage. Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Sun	Instantly match every word/definition pair on the board. Cooldown: 120 seconds.
Longest Season	Words decay 50% slower.
Timestop	Freeze the board in its current state. Words will not grow or decay, nor will new tiles be spawned. Any move will cancel Timestop.
Fool's Touch	PASSIVE: Increase your points by 50% for correct answers. However, lose an equal amount of points for any wrong guesses.
Double Down	PASSIVE: All points increased by 50%, but words decay and spawn 200% faster.

Whac-A-Word

Power	Description
Critical Strike	2x your points on the next answer. (Also available in Quiz Ninja.)
Book of Secrets	Arcade only — Pause the video and click on words to see definitions. Unlimited uses.
Rewind	Arcade only — Undo your last answer and preserve your answer streak. Will rewind to the previous line if necessary.
Farsight	Reveal correct answers for 30 seconds.
Second Chance	PASSIVE: When you lose your streak, prevent it, up to 2 times.
Adrenaline	PASSIVE: Keywords are 100% random (overrides custom keywords and difficulty). Multiplies speed bonus — the faster you answer, the more points you earn.

Sentence Snake

Power	Description
Lyric Hint	Click to see the text and translation for the current line.
Deadly Strike	2x your points on the current line.
Inspiration	PASSIVE: You have two additional attempts per line.
Revelation	Highlight the word tiles for the current line. Points for this line reduced by 50%.
Eagle Eye	PASSIVE: You only have ONE attempt per line (overrides Inspiration). However, your points for each line are increased by 50%.

Quiz Ninja

Power	Description
Fifty-Fifty	Remove up to two wrong answer choices. Cooldown: every 2 turns.
All or Nothing	Double your game score on the next question. But if you choose wrong, your score goes to ZERO! Does not stack with other powers. Unaffected by Resurrection.
Precognition	Reveal correct answers for the current and next question. Cooldown: every 6 turns.
Bushido	PASSIVE: All points increased by 50%. But if you answer incorrectly, you fall all the way back to Level 1.
Critical Strike	2x your points on the next answer. (Also available in Whac-A-Word.)

Shared Powers

These powers appear across multiple games.

Power	Available In	Description
Energize	Vocab Harvest, Whac-A-Word	For the next 10 seconds, your points are doubled.
Inner Fire	All games	PASSIVE: All points increased by 25%.
Resurrection	All games	Restore your other powers to their initial state and remove all cooldowns.

Live Player Powers

These are available to students during a Roxxem Live game. They apply to all four game types.

Power	Description
Meteor	Reduce the score of the leading player by 20%.
Lifesteal	Steal 10% of a random player's score.
Plot Twist	(Maybe) swap scores with a random player! WARNING: There is a 50% chance Plot Twist will fail.
Blessing	Boost another random player's score by 5,000 points. In return, you gain 2,500 points.
Shield	PASSIVE: Block other players' attacks on you, up to 4 times.
Freeze	Whac-A-Word only — Freeze the player ahead of you, preventing that player from taking actions for the next 10 seconds.

Live Host (Teacher) Powers

These are available only to the teacher running a Roxxem Live session. All are unblockable.

Power	Description
Pandemonium!	Randomly swap scores for ALL players.
Jackpot	Add 50,000 points to the selected player's score.
Hex	Remove 50,000 points from the selected player's score. Cannot go below zero.
Turbocharge	For the rest of the game, the selected player earns 2x points. Does not stack.

Special Tournament Power

Power	Description
Gifts of Hope	Every time you play, 25% of your score will be added to your total tournament score (up to a maximum of 500,000), and 50% will be added to the score of another random player in the tournament.
